Blocking certain links from popping up?
I'll be doing something on-line and all of the sudden I get a whole page pop-up asking me to update my Java, or my Firefox browser or something about Asian beauties. I have a fire-wall and Malware; how can I stop this from happening?
Thanks!

Your right- you DO have malware, and you need to get rid of it using an antimalware program. Get Malwarebytes free antimalware that you can download here: http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.ph... Install (don't choose trial) and update it. With Malwarebytes open- on the settings tab make sure all boxes are checked, and for each option below choose "Show in results list and check for removal". On the Scanner tab select "Perform full scan". Click the scan button, and delete everything it finds. Hopefully you didn't click any of the pop-ups, either way I would check your antivirus programs ratings here: http://www.av-test.org/en/tests/home-user/ Choose your windows version. That page is Java based and interactive- if you want to see the best protection click the "Protection" at the top of that column, etc. (3 different categories). If your not comfortable with the ratings for your antivirus program. I suggest Avast! free (that's also in the ratings). You can download Avast! here: http://www.avast.com/en-us/get/olSeZktG And learn how to set it up to be more secure, turn off nags, and use a few of its included features- such as it checking for VALID program updates to vital programs (Java, Flash Player, etc.) You can Learn all about that here: http://www.winhelp.us/configure-avast-free-antivir...
