its CODEC - Coding and Decoding.
Its the way song/video data is encrypted at the source into digital bits and decrypted back to the wave information at the end under interface. There are multiple algorithms, each having its own set of advantages and drawbacks, and hence multiple codecs.
3gp is the worst of them all, the so called mobile level audio, video
try .mp4 it might just work. If it doesn't then you are screwed buddy!
