Can you explain the steps please ?

choose variable to isolate, in this case we use 3x+y=2 (you can use any of the 2)
3x+y=2
subtract both sides by 3x which looks like this 3x-3x+y=2-3x
will equal y=2-3x
take the other equation and substitute the variable, we use the 2nd equation.
4x+2-3x=20
Combine like terms: x+2=20
subtract both sides by 2
x=18
Now we substitute the x on the equation for the known value ( with the isolated equation )
y=2-3(18)
y= -52
order pair= (18,-52)
