Does anyone know what the average weight of a timber truck load of logs is?

And how much money is one load if you have been quoted $20 per ton? Thanks

That depends on the size of the trailer and the type of wood.

Wet oak is much heavier by volume than drought dried pine.

The size of the trailer can determine the volume of the load.

But a wild guess would be about 20,000 lbs or 10 tonnes.

That would get you abut $200.

Your second responder almost had it right. 80,000 lbs MAX Truck, Trailer, Driver, Freight etc. However, you can haul heavier with special permits. SO, if that trucking company has special permits it could be more than 80,000 lbs, but most likely not. Just because they pull the timbers out of the woods does not mean DOT will not set up portables to bust ya for being over grossed.

THAT depends on how much your rig weighs also.

Most roads, (highway,) have an 80,000 - 85,000 gross vehicle weight limit.

It also can vary by state and in some cases whether the rig is a single, or tractor-trailer, or doubles; and there may also be lower load limits on some off-highway bridges you may have to cross.
