Coaching or a coincidence ?

Interesting stat there. I saw a stat on NFL.com that said since 2002, only 16% of 5 star recruits have been drafted in the 1st round there. Definitely have to give Saban some credit there, knows how to develop players, has built a program which all coaches aspire to accomplish. Go from building a team to building a program.

Actually, my best guess is that all 5-star recruits that committed to Alabama had an extremely good work ethic. What these recruits do is work hard and perform very well in practice every day, which helps explain why they were successful, top notch college football players for the Alabama Crimson Tide, who went on to get drafted to play in the NFL.

All of it, but then again how many of them have been a success? Not many. Alabama has become the new USC, where a number of USC offensive players struggled to make it in the NFL much like a large number of Alabama players on defense.

Coaching. Nick Saban is a great college coach and teaches his players how to perform at a high level. His staff is able to develop these five star players into 1st round talents.
