how to stop static sound on external monitor?

with my external monitor, every time i do anything with audio it makes a static noise in addition to the audio. how do i make it stop

it isn't a short and i already have a cable like that

    your audio cable ether has a short or is receiving interference. My speakers used to do this all the time. if your router or whatever is transmitting WiFi is near the PC or cable then you will have interference. wiggle the cord and if it make the static sound it has a short. if that is not it you need a audio cable with a ferrite on both ends. like this http://www.sfcable.com/10A3-06-F.html?utm_medium=s...
