How much does an octopus cost?

I really have no clue. I am sure they are more expensive than your regular fish that's for sure. The octopus won't be as expensive as the equipment you need for him.

Octopuses are mostly nocturnal. So you won't see him much unless you stay up to watch him by shinning a red light to see him :)

Minimum tank size depending on the species is a 30-100g tank. There are many different kinds (some that need very cold water others that need very warm water).

They are a lot of work bud. Think about it before even going there. If you are willing to do the maintenance on such a big tank. Then go for it. They are also escape artists so your tank must be "octopus Proof". lol

They needs very large tanks and only live about a year in home aquariums. So when u do find out how much they cost keep that in mind. Also some species are far more aggressive than others and will kill anything u put in the tank with them. They eat fish after all in the wild. U also have to glue your rock work down because they are strong and can pull the rock work apart in a tank. I personally think its cruel to put them in tanks because they die so quickly. They can also escape and require a very secure hood to keep them in. They are not for beginners and since u are asking this question I assume that's what u are. Owning freshwater aquariums does not give u any experience in saltwater. They are saltwater marine creatures and require such a tank.
