Will getting this tattoo affect my future career?
I'm getting a tattoo in tribute to my dad soon, and I was wondering if my tattoo would affect my chances of my future career? It's going to be on the inside of my wrist.
At the moment, I'm unemployed. I live in a small town with lots of teenagers and young adults so it's really hard to find a job.
In the future I either want to be a tattoo artist myself, a photographer, or both. But I'll have to get a job in a factory (or part time) till l make enough money for a dsl-r.
I know having tattoos as a tattoo artist isn't an issue. My concerns are mainly about being a photographer and if I'll be able to get a job in a factory. In your opinion, would I still get clients if I have a tattoo? How about getting a factory job until I can buy a camera? I know my boyfriends work doesn't care about tattoos because he has a plainly visible tattoo on his hand.

It shouldn't, but I won't say that it won't because it all depends on the employer. There are some really good products out there though to cover them up when needed. You can always wear long sleeves to an interview and just ask them what they think of tattoos and their polices on it. I have one on my forearm. I work at the UPS Store and my boss doesn't mind so if a job working with the public all day is ok with it any job should be

Ultimately, having a tattoo doesn't change the person you are, your capabilities and your personality. As long as you keep a professional look and personality, no one will judge you or see you otherwise.
I, personally, have tattoos on my hands, face, neck and everywhere else that is unseen. But I am a very successful business person, running a tattoo shop for a living, designing clothing and no one ever judges me. I've had several jobs on my way to become what I am today. I've always dressed and presented myself professionally. It's all in the way you present yourself. Tattoos are simply art added to our personalities.

Photography wise tattoos are fine, I know plenty of famous photographers that are covered in tattoos. Working in a factory you would most likely wear long sleeves so you won't be able to see it anyways.

When you go for the interviews either cover your tattoo with a long sleeve shirt or make up. There are tons of youtube tutorials on covering tatoos with regular drug store makeup! Hope this helps!
