is it bad to wear sony mdr-zx100 headphones in the rain?

I just bought a pair of these headphones. What pissed me off was that there was a slight sprinkle right after I started wearing them on the way to class. Of course, the shell of the headphones got wet, but not the cord that connects to the device (in this case, it was my DROID razr phone). Anyone who is electronic-savy know a lot about headphones to tell me if I should stop wearing these in the rain or not? Please give me the best advice possible. Thanks.

Update:

* not cord, but the metal piece that connects to the device. That's what I meant.

    They'll be fine in a brief shower. You don't want to get them soaked though.

    You definitely don't want to wear any head phones in the rain. I wore my almost $100 head phones in the rain once and they broke.
