How often does your dog potty?

My dog is a senior (14 years) and this past year he has developed this extremely annoying condition/habit of having to potty ALL THE TIME. I'm really not exaggerating, if he eats ANY food, he will need to potty within the next 15 minutes. If he drinks anything, he will need to potty. He literally has to potty every 3 hours or so like a puppy. In addition to that, his bladder is basically timed to have to potty by default at certain times of day. In the morning? Potty. Several times throughout the day? Potty. 10 PM? Potty. 12 AM? Potty. 2 AM? Potty. Sleep.....Oh! It's time to wake up? *30 minutes later* potty. Is it because he's old?

His only existing medical problems to date are Cushing's Disease and basically doggy IBS. But, he is on prescription food and medication for the Cushing's, so sensitive bowels is not the issue.

Update:

You have no idea about patience lol. Over the past 5 years we have been to the moon and back with this dog. He is here to stay. If we didn't care for an old dog, we wouldn't have adopted him at age 7 in the first place. Not to mention, the kennel didn't tell us he had terrible separation anxiety racking up more than $1,000 in damage on predominantly new housing items. Our window panes and door are still marred. He has racked up several hundreds of dollars in vet bills for numerous testings and medications. We wasted probably $100 just trying to find a food that would work for his bowels and that he would eat. We now have to buy him prescription food at almost $70 a bag. We had to re-potty train him and take him through obedience school. Our carpet was soiled multiple times daily for about 3 months...and less frequently afterwards. He broke his two canines off in a separation anxiety attack. He's torn up several blankets, sleeping cushions, crates and a Thundershirt all

Update 2:

And, we're also spending money we really don't have to spare on medicine and vet visits to keep his Cushing's disease at bay.

Update 3:

*all bought for his comfort. To suggest giving him up is foolish and part of why there are so many dogs still in shelters. Do you like everything about your siblings? No. Would you kick them out of the family? No. Do you like everything about your significant other? No. Are you going to break up with him/her because 1 thing annoys you? Of course not. The dog is living a much better life with our family than he was being bullied in his foster home and stuck in a shelter where he would never get adopted with his age and medical conditions.

Well IBS makes you go and gives you less warning. And so does old age. If you have no patience for the older dog, then is it fair to keep him? Puppies need to go more often than that, so personally I don't find it a hassle.

It could be diabetes, your dog's genes, or just that he's old and/or can't hold it in.

    And to the other answerer:

As far as I know, whoever asked the question doesn't seem like he's a bad owner just because he doesn't enjoy taking him out to pee all the time. If he goes very often, I can certainly see it getting annoying. It would be horrible for him to get rid of him, because then he'll most likely be stuck in a humane society for the rest of his life, because barely anyone wants to buy a senior dog.

Dogs are just like people older they are faster they pee and just go pee all the time maybe it's temporary and maybe not but if your really worried then just go to the vet and see what they say
