Jake Bugg: Cross between The Beatles and Oasis?
Always thought that, although whenever I watch him perform he reminds me completely of The Beatles. But then he also has that sort of wave in his voice that reminds me of Oasis, kind of whiny but in a good way if that makes sense.
Anyone else agree? Does he remind you of anyone else, or is he his own kind of vibe and sound to you?
Lol Jake Bugg is an English, indie/folk artist who plays the guitar. Only 19 and incredibly talented, in my opinion.
I recommend listening to 'Two Fingers' or 'Lightning Bolt'.

I think he has been overly hyped up because of his youth. What annoys me about him is that he doesn't write his own songs he has a team of song writers and then tries to make out he's Johnny Cash, puttin down One Direction when he is more like them than he would like to admit. His voice on the first record was quite good he sang in a less aggressive way and was more listenable. The second record he started shouting singing almost, his voice became too nasally and quite cringe worthy.
The first 5 or 6 songs on his debut album are quite good, but the rest of it is mediocre. His second record I think was too rushed and there's only two good on songs on it.
He comes across as a Noel Gallagher type, I would not compare him to the Beatles just because he has an acoustic guitar doesn't mean he's Bob Dylan either which too me is a ridiculous comparison.
He's a an average guitar player, the only thing about him is his voice and he has yet to write a large amount of his own material.
So no I don't agree with your opinion on him being like the Beatles or Oasis. In my mind he not good enough to be in the position he's in. He's not doing anything that hasn't been done before, just because he's doing it now everyone thinks he's so unique, which in my opinion he isn't.
He's certainly not a folk musician, one or two folkly type songs doesn't make you Roy Harper. He's an Indie Rocker he doesn't even come close to being a folk artist.

I keep hearing about this guy but I've never actually listened to him. What are his best songs?
Okay so I've never listened to Oasis so I can't compare him to them, but he does remind me of the Beatles. He actually reminds me more of the Beach Boys.
