How does the El Niño and La Niña phenomenons affect Chicago in the Winter and Summer?
Hey Yahoo fans,
Here living in Chicago, we have gone through one of the snowiest and coldest winter in Chicago's history. I want to know how the weather phenomenons of El Niño and La Niña affects (if any) Chicago weather when it hits the U.S? More specifically which of these phenomenons can bring us a milder or warmer winter? And which of these can bring us a cooler summer? Thank you.

El Niño can result in a milder winter in Chicago and generally less snow.

Evidently your younger than 40 years old, because all 4 season's have returned to normal naturally as I had planned it. My Triple Output Solution implemented by another nation to feed their nation 4 times more and at the same time Turned Off Global Warming, confirmed by our Satelite reports 11 /28/2012 ICE Accumulation. No more El Nino or La Nina ever again. Mike
