Witch Windows OS is best?
Hi I'm just wondering what Windows OS is the best?
My computer has a due core processor with 2 gigs of ram running Windows XP 500GB hard drive not sure what the graphics card is though.
I also have a Windows 7 installation disk for when support runs out for Windows XP.
I'm thinking about getting another computer as a back up witch I'd like to have Windows 8 running on it. I'm thinking about something that has 4GB to 8GB of ram with a 5GHz processor or better and a good graphics card to run Windows 8 without problems.
Windows XP
Windows 7
Windows 8

Well Windows 8 in my opinion is great in that its modern, sleek and intuitive, and its much easier than reported to use. Windows 7 is the best out the two for compatibility as Windows 7 has an XP mode, which essentially runs programs designed for XP and below on Windows 7, and they may not work on Windows 8 if you have an old/designed for XP/Lower OS without XP mode on Windows 7, however if you have no software that's essential, or is made for example, Windows 2000, then Windows 8 is your best bet, but 7 is best for compatibility. Also Windows 8 has apps that are made specifically for it.
All in all, I'd say go with Windows 8 as its easy use (might take a while such as a day or two to get custom to it), but Windows 7s best for compatibility, but if you have no old software to run on it, then 8s your best bet.

You could Install Android 4.4.4 on your computer, it was released yesterday
What's going to happen with your computer next year when M$ stops supporting W7, It's all ready 4 years old now, MS are NOT going to support W7 like they did with Xp.
You can Download and try out the latest January 29th 2014 Free Linux Operating system from Zorin. I am running it on a 14 year old Dell 1100 laptop that has no hard drive installed in it and 512 megabytes of Ram,
I boot it up from a usb Flash/jump drive. It's fast, I can get on the web using a wireless usb Linux can do things Windows 7 or 8 can't do. I recommend you

Support for XP will end this April, using it after that time will be an increasing security risk. Windows 8 64 Bit (not 8.1) is probably the most stable providing its clean installed with correct drivers and a Legal copy. Windows 7 64 is also good not quite as quick as Windows 8, but the advantage is its more compatible with known software.
