My family got a letter from National American Miss?
The letter is not specific. I have a sister and the letter is addressed to my family and never mentions which person was recommended. The signature is also obviously printed on and I think this is a scam. Any info?

it's not a scam. It's a teen pageant. That letter is sent out to millions of teenage girls every year. They get your name and address if you subscribe to certain magazines, catalogs, websites, etc
it's a pageant - every pageant has entry fees, plus you'll need to spend money on all of the outfits you need, coaching, talent, hotels to stay in, etc
The average pageant contestant spends over $3000 on each pageant they enter when you include everything
If you are not interested in doing pageants or don't want to spend money on a pageant, then just throw it out

They send them out to everyone, hoping to catch a female teen in the family.
It's not necessarily a scam, most likely they want you to pay money for modeling lessons. (This is what Barbizon does. When they send you the letter they say you can model and win all this money, but when you show up they try to sell you modeling classes, acting classes, etc.). So it's bait & switch. They'll take anyone as long as you pay them.

Definitely a scam; people have lost hundreds and thousands of dollars that bought them absolutely nothing. Stay away.
