I want to do national american miss but...?
I got a letter and stuff and got an open call thing, and yeah im happy, i've always wanted to do something like this, but it's really close and im scared and nervous, and im also REALLY shy!!! like over the top! I always have people telling me even sometimes asking me if im a model or something but my shyness is really hard to get comfortable with, should i try for it? will they hate me? im afraid ill seem like im not confident enough and they wont like it! ah! help!!

Congratulations! You should be really happy and celebrate. If they sent you the letter and everything, you must have what it takes :). Try to be more social or take a public speaking class. The more you talk, the more comfortable you get. You should go do whatever make you happy but also don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone.. You only live once?

They send that letter to millions of girls a year. Pretty much anyone who subscribes to any teen magazines or clothing catalogues gets that letter
If you have the money to spend on a pageant, it can help with your confidence. Nobody is going to hate you. But you have to have the confidence to want to get up on stage in front of not only judges but also a few thousand people in the audience
Before you do a pageant, I would try doing a school play first. If you are not comfortable in a school play where there may be 300 people watching and you are not being judged on every single thing, then pageants probably aren't for you
