Can you explain the movement and aids as you jump with your horse?
I would like your help. Please dont refer me to horse trainers. I know how to jump. I am in classes with a horse trainer. But I am still asking for a more detailed description.
Please explain how to jump a horse giving complete instructions as if you are explaining to someone the first time. When do you get into 2-point? When do you shift your weight into more of a squat as you take off? How does counting strides help you and how do you control the strides? Thanks for as much detail as you can share!

There are 7 steps to horse jumping
1 the first corner(the corner before the jump it is important to get right into the corner so that you have
plenty of time to approach and pick up speed )
2 the approach(where you get your horses speed up to prepare them to jump)
3 the take off(when your horse takes off)
4 the suspension(when you are suspended in the air)
5 the landing(landing. you sit up from your jump position just after you land try and sit up as quickly as you can after the horse lands)
6 the getaway( after the landing it is important to ride away from the jump in a straight line.)
7 the final corner (the corner after you jump)
Get into 2 point when you go over the pole on the ground before the jump and just before your horse takes off.
Try to keep your heels down as much as you can when you get into jump position think about lifting your bottom up only a tiny bit and don't lean forward to far or when you start to do multiple jumps you will tip forward when you land, it also helps you to sit up nice and quickly.
You don't exactly squat when you jump you just sit forward slightly lifting up you bottom and moving your hands forward.
Counting strides helps as your horse is less likely to trip over the jump if they have an exact number of strides before the jump. You control the strides by going faster for long strides and shorter for short strides, these will always be slightly different on different horses as they all take different sized steps.
Good luck !!!!!!!! :)
