If my brain knows how to make endorphins, why can't I tell it to make me some?

My brain & CNS seem to enjoy endorphins, which are very similar to morphine, so why can't I compel my brain to make me some at will? After all, it is MY brain!

If you know how to clean your room, why can't your parents tell you to do it?

    Sort of like that!

Or how about mowing the lawn? Why is it so hard for your parents to get you to do that?

    Think of it this way...

Your parents seem to enjoy a clean home and a nice yard which, for them, is very similar to morphine as well. So why can't they compel their child to help out around the house?

After all, it is your house too!

It's sort of the same thing.

    You know what I mean?

I guess it's because we can't always get what we want.

    But you know what?

If you try some time you just might find... You get what you need!

Oh god yes.... if only we could choose to make these things. But you only feel endorphins when you're about to be eaten by a bear.

If you do some exercise like running, cycling, swimming, yoga, boxing. Your Brian will be loaded with endorphins ;)
