anybody know what kind of coin this is? my first reaction was that its spanish. need more info!!?

What kind of coin is this? Year, markings, orgin, etc. I think its spanish but I need more info about it.

    It doesn't look real to me. It's pretending to be a hand-hammered coin - they were called 'cobs' - but if the outer edges were worn smooth like these are, the rest of the coin's details would be worn smooth. The inner details are too well-preserved. This looks to me like a modern piece made by casting, not by being hammered between two dies, the way the genuine coins were made.

    What's supposed to be a coat of arms type thing in the center isn't. Coats of arms were more a British thing, anyway. A common design on most Spanish cobs was the 'pillars' design.

    So, I think this is a 'fantasy' piece. You can't call it a replica because coins looking like this one never existed.
