Probation UA - Xanax?
I'm on probation currently and I take drug tests once a month. I'm prescribed .5 xanax. If I took the 2mg xanax would my po be able to tell? I mean it metabolizes the same, right?

POs usually use cheap urine strips that can't really give an indicator of strength. It is unlikely he would be able to tell that you are taking more than you should. An expensive lab-grade test would show this, but it's not likely they will use one because of the cost.
OTOH do you really want to take the chance? What will happen if you are randomly selected for the expensive lab-grade test and it comes back with a much higher serum level then should be there? You really should stick to the prescribed dosage just to be safe.

If the medication was prescribed by a doctor then notify your probation officer that you are on a legal prescription medication and you will not be in violation.
If you are tested then come up dirty then not giving notice may be considered a violation.

as long as you have your prescription form your doctor stating you and only you can take that medication you will be good...However make sure to let him know that you are taking it....nobody in the world is a mind reader so if you don't say anything you will get in trouble....once you get drug tested and it shows
