If your belly button hurt pretty bad, your nose is going to be even worse for you. Piercing pains all depend on how high your pain tolerance is and if your piercer is doing it correctly. The nose is much more sensitive than the belly button. Your nose contains cartilage, while your belly button is just skin and fat. When getting your nose pierced it's a sharp pain and your eyes will water. You also may bleed, which is likely in the nose area. Not meaning to scare you, just being honest. But if you want the piercing badly enough, it's something you'll have to go through that is completely worth it in the end. Either way a new piercing is an exciting experience but also a little confusing. Hope this helps!

Source(s): I have nine piercings altogether, including my belly button and my nose. All of them have healed correctly, and I've given advice several times to people about piercings and they always turn out great. I've also done tons of research.

the nose hurts more for 2 reasons

    1. You can see the needle going through your nose (unless you close your eyes.)

    2. The needle is actually going through cartilage unlike belly button.

The healing process hurts more for belly button. So I just say do it! And get your nose pierced! It hurts at first but after a few days it starts to feel better!

As long as you get them done with a sharp needle, neither are super painful! I'd have to say the belly button, though - even if the cartilage of the nose is thicker, the belly button skin is more sensitive.

I have yet to get my belly button pierced . But I've had my nose pierced for over 2 years. Honestly I barely felt it when the needle went through. I actually asked the piercer if he had pierced it yet . He was already in the process of putting the jewelry in! It really depends everyone's different.

Nose peircing isn't bad, you only curse in your head for about 5 seconds before it's over. I'd suggest NOT using a horseshoe jewelry (if you DIY) since it literally bumps up stuff and it hurts. Other than that, make saline solution and clean twice a day.
