Questions about making lipstick with crayons?

So a makeup artist I watch on YouTube upload a video about making Crayola lipstick. She used coconut oil, vaseline, and a crayon.

I thought, why not just melt down a white chapstick and use that? Would that be possible? Also, could I use only vaseline?

the coconut oil is mostly to help the lipstick reach a more store bought consistency, but if youre okay with it being more balmy you could definitely just use vaseline! and melting down an old chapstick is actually a brilliant idea and i say go for it!

Yes, you can use just vaseline,

the coconut oil just hydrates your lips and

    moisturizes the lips better.
