Is the Danish/Swedish drama "The Bridge" acted out in both languages?

Do the characters adjust their speech at all depending on to whom they are speaking (a Dane or a Swede) or do they speak in their character's native tongue always making it a bilingual show?

The characters speak their own languages to each other, but Martin sometimes adjusts his Danish when speaking to Swedish witnesses who might otherwise struggle. Saga makes no adjustments for anybody, of course.

I believe that it is still the case that all Scandinavian schools give kids an experience of the other Scandinavian languages, and teach them some of the most common differences, so provided the person is getting regular contact with the other languages, they will have little difficulty in understanding.

Source(s): I lived in Sweden a long time, am fluent in Swedish, and I understand Danish (mostly, especially after a glass of whisky).
