If you had the power to stop a person from raping someone else, would you?

I would.

That is the difference between me and your god, theists (besides the imaginary part). I would step in and stop all of them if I had the power to. Not just stand aside and let it happen.

Not only am I more moral than your god, I think you are more moral than your god.

Update:

@djmantx. Yes, to all of your questions. If I had the power to prevent all rape, murder, etc. I would do so. That's what makes me more moral than your god.

Update 2:

@quaz. Yes, free will would still exist even if god stepped in to prevent immoral things from happening...although I'm not entirely convinced free will exists.

Update 3:

@annsan. Given what the Bible has to say about Jesus, I think I am definitely more moral than he was. I would at least say something against slavery, which he failed to do even though it was rampant and there was no way he was simply ignorant of all of it. Slavery isn't trivial, either. Owning other people as property is hugely immoral, and I think that carries a lot of weight.

You're damn right I would try to stop it, so the answer a big fat "Yes"

Edit: Damn, I can't believe all the religious people giving their non-answer excuses for their pathetic insensitive non-empathetic sadistic god. Sickening.

Sheesh people, how hard is it to answer "Yes" or No"?

Even if I didn't have the power, I would try.

If nothing else, two people fighting off an attacker have a better chance of overwhelming him than only one.

One thing is for sure though, no amount of prayer will affect the situation in the slightest, regardless of the supposed promises of the New Testament.

Well of course not, but you're begging the question here. Who supports rape, or any other withholding of rights from any other human being for that matter? While I am an agnostic-atheist, the non-benevolence of a god does not necessarily lead to it's non-existence, even if it is so. It fits into the 'Will of God' mentality as there are many instances in the bible that resulted in murder, rape etc. even under the direct influence of God. Calling somebody an ******** does not disprove their point, ad hominem.

The 'Free Will' argument makes it's way here, in that God, if he exists are laid out in the Old Testament, lets us sin as a result of a fallen world, which leads us to believe that unless we were originally designed to sin free will exists in the first place, but I digress. God should and could stop such things from happening, but there will always be a theistic justification.

In the end, while I support your point and theology, this platform and point is probably not the way to go about it.

Are you able to read the rapist's mind, then? For that would be required in order to 'eliminate' him from beginning his attack. Unlike you, God knows what we are thinking, which is why Jesus said that to lust after a woman not your wife is on a par with committing sexual sin (which includes rape, but is not confined to that - adultery too.)

Now, consider all the people who think adultery between consenting adults is perfectly okay. You would let them off with that, I suppose. You would have your own criteria about what sexual activity is immoral, and what is not. Jesus begs to differ. So unless you are more moral than Jesus, you fool yourself.

Go have a read in the Bible at Matthew 5:21-32. Jesus shows that despising your brother in your thoughts leads to speaking despicable words about him, and that is what God judges. What do you think God makes of those who despise Him in their thoughts? Beware your thoughts. They betray you. AiH

    Of course.

I'm not a sadistic dick like god of Abraham.

Really? Would you choose to die in the stead of the pedophile who raped and sodomized your children? Would you die in the place of the murderer who bludgeoned your parents to death in front of you? Would you die for a serial killer who chopped your neighbours up for fun? God GAVE US OVER TO THAT WHICH WE CHOSE. If you don't like it, place your faith in his Son who died for YOU and then you will never have to worry about anything that MAN chooses to do to you, NOT God. Jesus Christ was tortured and killed for YOU and you don't even care. How the heck does that make you "more moral" than God?? Just by saying that, makes you prideful, which is not moral. Your morality is subjective my friend, while God's is absolute.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

I like the "if I had the power to.." in your question, it shows your limits and powerlessness. Talk is cheap and ridicule is bankruptcy.
