Does he like me or not?

So I recently started talking to this guy (about a week ago) and we text like every second of every day, nothing flirty or anything but we just have a lot in common and were kinda jokingly mean to each other (it's all in good fun) but when I see him at school I always have to go up to him and start a conversation but he does get into it once we start talking. I don't know if this is because he's shy around me or doesn't actually like talking to me, he's only faking it. He usually goes up to all of his friends but whenever I'm around he just kinda stands a few feet away. I don't know if he likes me and is shy or just doesn't care. Any advice? (I don't really care if he likes me because I have a boyfriend but I don't want him to secretly hate me and just talk to me cause he doesn't wanna be mean)
