My 2001 Toyota Corolla has OEM 14" wheels, what are the drawbacks of switching to a 13" wheel?
I'm currently running a 14 inch OEM wheel/tire on my 2001 Corolla. I own a set of 13 inch wheels/tires that I'd like to put on the car. They have the same 4x100 lug pattern and both sets are high offset so they WILL fit. However, I'm wondering what, if any, drawbacks there would be to running a 1" smaller wheel/tire?

rim/wheel size does not directly denote over-all wheel/tire radius. the tires mounted on them are in play as well. that said, a smaller combo will make mpg's suffer. over longer periods of time, that would make the engine have more miles so to speak than the odometer would reflect.
lighter note, periodic replacement of consumable engine components will come around sooner.
