Scenario: We are ignorant of religion, and live on a secluded island.

You state God is real. Without you I would not know the word God. You give this notion attributes and powers and define what it is.

I hear your claims, but do not observe anything you claim. I state God is not real.

You say, well how do you know? Prove it. You say these things without ever truly proving you own claim, but assume you are correct.

I say, well I don't have to prove it, I did not make up the notion, I am merely stating that fact that the notion cannot be confirmed true. I say, I know because it was your idea, and everything you stated cannot be observed by an unbiased source, me. I can prove it does not exist based upon the attributes and story you created for your idea. It cannot be heard, seen, smelled, tasted or felt. It does not has a "footprint" on the world, nor does the world show verifiable signs of creation, nor any signs to back up any of the stories you created for your notion.

You say, well God exists outside of space time and can be all places at once without ever leaving a trace.

I state that you have just created more unproven claims to support the initial claim for which there was no evidence. I then bid you good day.

You continue believing your claim, and add to it and fine tune it so that it sounds completely rational to you in the most irrational way possible.

Wrong way round. Anything MIGHT exist, so you can't prove a negative. The question is for theists - can you prove that God DOES exist?

I don't have to. I don't intend to prove that god does not exist.

    You have to.

By the way, you owe me a million dollars. Can you prove that this debt is imaginary? If not please pay me my money until friday.

The problem with imaginary things is always the same, be it a god or a debt or a monster under your childrens bed. There is no evidence. Not for not against. The only way to deal with this is to assume that these things are imaginary until someone presents proper evidence for it.

The burden of the proof should be on those who believe in God. But here's my answer to you: god doesn't exist. if he does, he really doesn't meddle with people's lives (and what's the point of such god?). Prayers don't work. To say that you are blessed and god saved you from an accident or something is a big slap for those who suffer/die.

Can you prove God exist? Try to without using the bible. See my point?

Show me this "god" to which you refer and I'll get to work on disproving your claim, until you can present this supposed "god" to the world, it is up to you to prove its existence in the first place.

Source(s): Things that exist can be proven to exist, things that can't be proven to exist do not exist.

    Define "God".

It all depends on your definition. If you define God as the creator of the universe, than sure he exists. He just might be a multiverse or something else that we can't imagine right now.

If you define God as floating bestselling author white man with a beard in the sky, I don't think it would be too hard to disprove that.

It's clear from DNA fossil records, geological analysis, cosmology etc that the biblegod did not do the things that are claimed for him.

If the only evidence of this entity is the things in the bible, then it's fairly safe to assume that this god doesn't exist.
