Anyone here use Open Office?
If so, what's your opinion compared to Microsoft Office, particularly for word, powerpoint and excel?
Also, can I open and edit my current word documents? Or, can I open them and convert them to Open Office?
Thanks

Open Office can't save docx files, You can open MS files with Open Office, than click "save as" to Open file format. If you want fully compatible with MS Office, you can also try Kingsoft Office, which is also free and does the same work as MS Office.

Open office can do pretty much anything MS Office can do. The problem with open office is that, it is no longer supported by its developer (Apache) since 2011 so its pretty much outdated. I suggest getting Libre Office. Its a revamped Open Office with extra and of course its free.
You can download it here - https://www.libreoffice.org/download

If I'm honest it's reasonably okay if you don't want to pay the full price for the Microsoft packages. I mean you can do pretty much everything on it but I prefer word, when I write essays for college I like having the headings options on word. Presentation wins with Microsoft. Efficiency? Pretty much the same. Microsoft office 2014 is amazing though.
