about making guitar instrumental parts when making song/music?

Hey guys I got a little problem here. I'm trying to make a song/music consisting of electric guitar, bass, drum, and piano. The thing is that I have never played the electric guitar before (I only play piano). Do you need to have experience in playing electric guitar to make it as instrumental part for a song? I mean if I just study the basic chord progression and theories and get used to how the electric guitar sounds in a song, wouldn't that be good enough?

Update:

btw I played acoustic guitar for 1 and a half year, if that helps

No. You don't need any experience playing the guitar to do this. It will sound like a complete train wreck and will be laughed at by anyone you try to get to listen to it but there is no experience needed.

You may even be able to pick out the melody and chords you want to use and actually play them on the guitar but the feel and proper attack will not be there.

Now if you don't want for it to sound like complete crap, you will need to have about half a life time of experience or hire someone who is able to play the guitar pretty good.
