How can I get over the loss of my pet?
I lost my Yorkie, Emma, five months and about eight days back, in September. The circumstances of her death were less than desirable (as if any are), since I lost grip of her while I was holding her in the kitchen, and my best guess is that something broke.
Nevertheless, I only cried for two days after the fact. It was uncontrollable, and I cried every couple of hours. I stopped after that second day, but sometimes I think about the things she used to do.. such as go to sleep on my back or in the crook of my neck, and we'd chase each other through the house.. She was just barely two years old, and every time I think about her, I can't help but cry nonstop. It's very unpleasant, and my face and stomach is often sore after from the strain.
I don't think I've fully accepted that she's not coming back, and any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

You can't force yourself to get over her death. You will slowly over time start to get over it. I dont know how long it will take (no one does) but i can tell you for certain you will get over her. Some times when you think you're over it you will feel like crying because you will miss her, but that's normal.
I lost my dogs (all 3, but they were given away because we couldn't keep them anymore) about 3-4 years ago and i still miss them
sometimes i feel so sad that i start to cry

By realizing that over-pet involvement is insane.
