What does it mean if I don't really feel attracted to either gender?
I'm still fairly young, but it just doesn't seem.. right, I guess?
As a kid, when I was still in public school, I had one crush; it was on a boy, but it quickly dissolved after I moved grades. Simple school crush. Since then, I had only experienced one other such infatuation, and it was when I was eleven.
In general, though, I don't feel attracted to anyone. I can find people cute, sure, attractive, and I can appreciate a good figure, but no real attraction. There's certain.. well, desires I experience, but I don't get any pleasure from sating them with another person. The thought itself doesn't really appeal to me. I've thought about it, sure, but it ultimately doesn't sound.. good.
I can't say I have everything figured out for myself here, obviously, and I'm just looking for a little guidance. All help is appreciated, and please, only serious answers.
2 AnswersPsychology7 years agoFeel slightly sick after eating anything?
For a few days now, I've noticed this. When ever I get done eating, whether it's meat, ramen, cereal.. anything, I get this slightly sick feeling in my throat. It's not quite strong enough to ever make me throw up, and it goes away after maybe close to an hour?
This hasn't always happened, so I'm sorry if I'm being a little vague. All help is appreciated.
(Also, if it at all matters, I'm a quick eater. Always have been, never affected me before.)
1 AnswerOther - Health7 years agoIs there any way I can convince my parents to quit smoking?
For as long as I have been alive and much longer than that, my parents have smoked. I guess it was a popular thing when they were teenagers?
I've always known them to smoke, and I always tried to tolerate it, because I was a kid and they didn't care what I said. Even when I developed bronchitis and had to use my inhaler every time they smoked, they didn't care. They would promise on birthdays that they would quit, but they never did. Our walls have always been discolored, and everything always smells of nicotine and smoke. It's disgusting.
The longest my dad went without smoking was three months, before I was born. I don't know why he picked it up again. My mother's record is a week.
So, please, I really want help with this. I don't want to get some kind of bad illness from their smoke, and I don't want them to get ill. Plus.. the extra $90+ we'd gain each week would really help.
Serious answers only, please.
3 AnswersOther - General Health Care7 years agoIs there a safe way to remove close mats from a dog's fur at home?
I've got a little dog, Maltese to be precise, and she has really fine hair which mats up really bad really easily, through something as simple as petting her often. I know I'm supposed to brush her, and I do. Most of her mats are on her head. Ears, neck and face, since I can easily cut and brush the ones on her body out. Brush her head is incredibly difficult for me, as she jerks and flails when I try to keep her head in place. I don't want to exert too much pressure on keeping her head in place, as I'm really skittish about accidentally injuring her due to a tragedy with another dog months ago.
I've been looking into taking her to a professional groomer, but before that, I just want to know if there's a safe way to remove her mats at home, without injuring her ears and skin.
3 AnswersDogs7 years agoIf a child committed murder, how would it be punished?
It's a strange thought that's been swirling around my head for a while.
I'm talking a little kid - 7-10 - committing coherent murder. Would it be placed in a Juvenile facility? I'm really curious as to what would happen.
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics7 years agoTypical female fashion of the late 1800s?
I'm writing a story set at around 1880, and I figured it would be a decent idea to look around for the standard female dress of the time. The more fortunate tended to have different outfits throughout the day, yes? Such as evening dresses, dinner dresses, the works.
So, if anyone can help me with this (names of the clothes would be good, as well), I'd be very appreciative.
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories7 years agoHow can I get over the loss of my pet?
I lost my Yorkie, Emma, five months and about eight days back, in September. The circumstances of her death were less than desirable (as if any are), since I lost grip of her while I was holding her in the kitchen, and my best guess is that something broke.
Nevertheless, I only cried for two days after the fact. It was uncontrollable, and I cried every couple of hours. I stopped after that second day, but sometimes I think about the things she used to do.. such as go to sleep on my back or in the crook of my neck, and we'd chase each other through the house.. She was just barely two years old, and every time I think about her, I can't help but cry nonstop. It's very unpleasant, and my face and stomach is often sore after from the strain.
I don't think I've fully accepted that she's not coming back, and any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated.
2 AnswersOther - Pets7 years agoHow to deal with misophonia?
I've had this disorder for just about as long as I can remember, but I never knew it's name until looking through a list on Wikipedia a few months ago. I can't simply avoid my triggers, as much as I wish I could.
My brother smacks, no matter what he eats, be it a granola bar, an orange, cereal.. and GOD the slurping! It makes me so irritated, and just thinking about it makes me want to cry. He breathes like a deep sea diver and when I'm trying to do work at the coffee table since I don't have a desk, he just lingers into the kitchen, breathing, smacking. It is so, so irritating and it ruins my good moods. Telling him to stop doesn't work, as he either ignores me or continues to do it louder.. basic older brother behavior. Then there's texting.
The annoying 'takka takka' of a smartphone keyboard.. God, it just really annoys me. I can't stand it. And the way my mother eats just..
This is really unpleasant, and any tips or pointers would be really, very appreciated.
1 AnswerPsychology7 years agoHow to get over someone you have no chance with?
Alright.. so there's this guy I have a crush on, and I know now that there is little to no chance of us ever making a go of that.
I only know him because he's the son of one of my parent's bosses, and I only see him when we go over to their house for dinners or to hang out with them, at which point he isn't usually down with us. He has a girlfriend, is two and a half years older than me, and we've spoken a grand total of /once/, for about three lines.
I could almost say that the only reason I like him this much is because I don't go to public schools and he's the only guy I've met even remotely close to my age since I've started being interested. It's likely just a young teen infatuation.
Nonetheless, he's on my mind often and, since I'm nearly positive that we won't be together, is there any advice someone could give me on letting it go?
No sarcastic remarks, please. All help is appreciated.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating7 years agoWhy do people smoke weed?
This is a genuine question, not one of those questions posted so I can constantly contradict or disagree with opinions. I genuinely want to know why people smoke weed.
Growing up, I was always told through TV or adults that smoking weed was bad always and stupid. And I think, for that reason, I've grown up being annoyed by any and all mentions of people smoking it, but I digress.
I've heard that smoking weed actually causes damage to your body, regardless of what people think, and while I'm not sure how true this is.. you're smoking a foreign substance, I can't imagine it's very healthy to start with.
And so, my original question stands. Serious answers, preferably.
4 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups7 years agoIs this a legitimate fear? And if it is, what is it called?
Since I was little, I've had a fear of electronic noises. Dial-up, fax machine voices (you know, those automated ones, that sound really choppy?), things to that nature. When I was little, my parents had a fax machine. Whenever they would check for messages or whatever they did, the electronic voice would make me very nervous and uneasy. Now, if I call someone and it rings through, the three beeps that follow give me the same feeling. Does this have a name or is it a very uncommon fear? Serious answers, please. Thank you.
1 AnswerMental Health8 years agoI sometimes hear noises that aren't actually there?
It doesn't happen often.. and this is actually just the second time it's happened in my memory. But earlier this year, or late last year, I heard a very short series of what sounded like short text notifications. I know for a fact it wasn't my phone, and I was alone in my house at the time. It wasn't all clumped together, but it spaced out through a span of maybe four minutes.
And now, just a few minutes back, I heard what sounded like the ringtone of a home phone. It sounded like it was behind me just barely and to the left, but I'm in my room, we don't have a home phone and my radio was off.. it rang just once, and it's a little unnerving. I'm also home alone now.
I don't really know what's going on, it's a little weird and it kind of makes me nervous when this happens. I was very awake both times these happened, so it can't really be anything like.. dreaming.
If anyone has any idea or.. really, anything, I'd be appreciative.
4 AnswersMental Health8 years agoI think I am bisexual, but I don't know if I should come out to my family?
I know there are quite a few younger people who think they're bisexual before they really know.
Basically, I've been attracted, maybe not sexually but generally attracted to both girls and boys since I first started noticing them, around age eight. Young, but I guess that everyone is different in that subject. This was around the same time I (accidentally) discovered porn.
My problem is, while I feel attracted to both genders.. I can't. Everyone in my family is Christian, and believe strongly that homosexuality is wrong. This would include bisexuality. Even if I was completely sure and I came out, everyone would be trying to change me, as though it would be something so easily moldable. I'm personally not entirely sure if it will pass, but I know for the moment I am greatly attracted to both genders. I'm worried that if I tell my parents, they'll look at me with disapproval, and if I tell my brother that he won't like me anymore.
I'd really appreciate some advice.
6 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender8 years agoDo water turtles bite?
Recently my older brother brought home a couple water turtles from his friend's mom. They're really little and a little energetic, and so far they haven't bitten us. But we've held them, all that, but I would just want to make sure so I'm prepared when I do handle one.
7 AnswersReptiles8 years agoIs it a good idea to look for a 'classic' muscle car or pony car for a first car?
Alright, so, for as long as I can remember, I have always loved cars like the '66 Pontiac GTO, '70s Plymouth Barracuda, late '60s to early '70s Chargers... Cars like that. But despite how much I love these, I have little to no knowledge regarding what goes on inside of them. A little funny, considering. So I'm not sure what to get, or rather what to look for. I'd be looking for something with... fairly affordable gas mileage. My dad is always telling me that a young person driving a car with a lot of power, there's always a chance they will overdo it and get someone hurt. Thing about that is I'm a very responsible person, in contrast to my older brother who will drive his large truck at 85 going down a narrow road.
But, back on subject, any guidance here will be appreciated. If you don't think it's a good idea to look for a car like this for a first, don't hesitate to say, just give me some reasons. Thanks in advance.
7 AnswersBuying & Selling8 years agoHow dangerous is it to take ADD medication without having ADD?
I've recently, as in last night discovered my close friend has been taking ADD medication, but I know for a fact she doesn't have ADD. I don't know if it's Adderall or Ritalin or what, I just know it's something to that effect.
She seems to be getting a lot thinner, and sometimes has some pretty bad headaches and nausea(sp). I don't want to worry about something happening to her, so I'd rather know the dangers now.
4 AnswersMedicine8 years agoTips and help on drawing for a 'beginner'?
I used to be pretty decent with pencil-and-paper art, but recently I suffered severe fractures in both of my hands. I had to go through physical therapy to be able to just regularly function with them, thus I'm re-learning.
Anyway, any tips, pointers... Things to practice? Currently I just scribble with a regular, HB 2 pencil you can get in bulk packs, with lined notebook paper. I have access to a couple other types of pencils and everything but... anyway, back to the point.
I'm wanting to re-learn and I am *completely* in the very beginning again. I have to retrain my hands according to my therapist. So, any tips, simple things to draw, exercises... Anything, just some general... Help.
All is appreciated, thanks in advance.
1 AnswerDrawing & Illustration8 years agoYorkie is shaking and panting occasionally 24+ hours after surgery?
I have a 3.11 pound active Yorkie. She had surgey on... the.. 5th of April, at, I want to say 8 or 9 AM. She had a hernia removed from her diaphragm area before it got bad, she had an extra tooth removed and also got spayed and groomed with teeth cleaning. She takes liquid Amoxicillin every twelve hours through a syringe, .8 cc, and also .09 cc of Metacam every 24 hours. I looked up the Metacam and it said side effects could include dizziness, and a little earlier while she was standing on my leg she kind of tipped over sideways. She could be dizzy and it's making her nervous but I just kind of want to make sure it's nothing else. She'll drink water through a syringe and eat NutriCal but I have yet to see her use the bathroom. She's been acting alright all day, sleeping which is good, and drinking, it's just been the past hour and a half.
It's currently 10:55 PM, and any help at all is appreciated.
6 AnswersDogs8 years agoGood area to get a first tattoo?
I'm speaking body-wise, I have plenty of time to find a place to get it done since I'm not the legal age to get a tattoo on my own yet. My mother gets really pissed when I talk about getting a tattoo that's visible, like on my forearm or bicep area.
Since I'm planning for a first tattoo, I'm wondering on a location that would be easy to hide, with my shirt or pants but I can still make it visible if I want to, if that makes sense? My friend was suggesting shoulder to mid-bicep or elbow or upper back, shoulderblade, or leg. I'm just not sure, I'd appreciate suggestions or tips.
I don't want to.. you know, not have any idea when I go to get one and totally regret the placement later.
5 AnswersTattoos8 years agoWhat's the name of those knives? It's really bugging me?
It's a little vague, but they're these types of small blades, it has one long blade in the center and then two shorter ones on the side, the gap between them is a bit... Rounded. The center blade is wider at the base and then gets more narrow...? Commonly used in pairs I think.
Again, it's not a great description, I'm not good with describing things. If anyone could make anything out of this, I'd appreciate it.
(I couldn't find a suitable category for this so I left it in the one it gave me.)
