Help with sew in extensions please!?

I'm getting sew in extensions for my birthday/ graduation

I've been reading and watching videos about extensions and how to take care of them

I heard you can keep them in for MAX 3 months and I'm only going to keep them for 2 because its the time in between my birthday and graduation

The only thing I'm confused by is the washing.

I know you use a nozzle and dilute shampoo with water and same thing goes with conditioner

Now you put that on the braids? Or what? and how do I make sure its all out without washing it like normal hair?

And I read that you put oils or leave in conditioner on them to give the braids a little moisture

Is that right or wrong? And if i use oil do i wash it out or leave the oil in because I already put coconut oil on my hair every week or other week.

I'm Mexican and have thick wavy/ curly hair (curly on bottom wavy on top) I mention this because i know the thinner hair like Caucasian hair don't hold the extensions very long

I want the length not so much thickness

What will also help me is maybe your experience with them, are they a bad idea?

How to avoid mildew??

And is it ok to get it wet at like a beach & pool?

Im so new to this :/ please help!

Ok thin hair can hold extentions just fine I sew wefts in myself or I glue them myself.

When it comes to washing if ive sewn them in I try not to wash the roots much I lather up the shampoo on the ends then work the lather as close to your head without actually touching your head ... then take a tiny bit more and do the roots FAST and rinse it out roots first. Do the same with conditioner.

I always use 100% human hair it lasts longer and looks better I was able to keep mine in 4 months with weekly visits to the beach and I was gently when I took them out and was able to use them 2 more times. After that I trimmed the ends and got another use out of them.

You can use them in the pool but the hair strands dry out the worse you treat them natural hair is constantly renourished by your own scalp but the extentions dont get any new nutrients they just slowly lose the nutrients they have.

    Hope this helps

I just got rid of my sewn in hair extensions yesterday! If you get these extensions please look after them. I recommend remy hair as its best hair you can get, make sure you don't use cheap hair as it will matt up and wont be good at all. Don't wash your hair no more than 3 times a week, be careful with the shampoo as it can matt up the extensions, the lady that put my extensions in recommended me to use Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner or argan oil, she also said she wouldn't recommend me getting them wet in the pool as chlorine will effect them so tie up your hair if you are going into the swimming pool. And you can use leave in conditioner and a lot of woman put oils in their braids, hope this kinda helped x
