How long does it take to get your name off a deed after bankruptcy?

When I filed bankruptcy 2 yrs.ago,I put my home on the list of things to be discharged Bankruptcy went thru and the house mortgage was discharged..I no longer want the house or anything to do with it. It seems my name is still on the deed. The bank hasn't gone thru foreclosure yet The bank put a lock on the house 2 years ago and I don't have any access to it. If my name is still on the deed and the bank didn't foreclose do they have a right to put a lock on it?Thought about going the deed of lieu route but, the bank wants us to have a real estate agent go inside the house and inspect it.Like I mentioned I have NO access to the house. I feel as if I'm getting the run around. Is there anything I can do to get my name off the deed? Maybe a quit claim deed? BTW I live in upstate N.Y.

IF you have a document from the bankruptcy that states that the house is no longer yours, that is fine. You will not be responsible for the house.

You can file a quit-claim deed, but that too will not get your name off the deed, it will be another piece of paper that is filed along with the deed that states you are not responsible.

This is not something you should worry about.
