What is the answer to all this unemployment & poverty?

I realize the problem is a complex one yet there has to be a permanent & lasting solution to it. You would think that a nation as powerful as the USA is with such wealth & resource could at least point the way to turning things around. Granted it seem's unemployment figures are somewhat down from where they were. A huge unemployment problem remains & perhaps an even greater under employment remains as well. People who earn little, buy little. In any business there has to be a demand for real growth to occur. What would stimulate growth of jobs here in the USA? Education is fine yet that still leaves the problem. A service industry cannot sustain a country as large as ours. Somehow manufacturing will have to play a part in any recovery. What are your thoughts on the economy?
