Why did the camera flash?

I was driving down the highway when I noticed a camera flash in the distance. Knowing that speed traps are common in the area I slowed down to 79 km per hour (speed limit was 80) and yet when I went by the camera flashed! Why would it do this if I wasn't even speeding?

It's common for cameras to be set. Fractionally lower than posted speeds when no film or recording is occurring, this is a visual detergent to drivers and is known to act as a slowing affect on many drivers for weeks.

It is also possible a car behind etc can trigger a camera we are in front of.

Often se cars getting flashed and have been myself when clearly travelling at posted or lower than that limit.

Was there a car hurtling along on the opposite side of the freeway? If not? You may be able to appeal if you question the cameras calibration status at the time you were flashed? You will also have to get your cars tachometer calibrated to prove that it is operating correctly? I always go past speed cameras at exactly 5mph (7.5kph) indicated under the posted limit cos I do'nt trust any of the money grabbing gits who run the camera's where be it council, city, state, highways or the pigs? They are all corrupt, thieving, criminal systems hellbent on seperating the motorists from their cash. Good luck.. VTL

Hi they also use these as AN-PR cameras as well not just speed cameras. so have you current road tax MOT and insurance. if so no problem.

If you obeyed all traffic laws do not worry about it. Only guilty people need to worry.

Sometimes they do this when they are faulty
