Why does Obama continue to lie about global warming?

During the State of the Union, President Barack Obama stated that global warming is a “fact” and that the science was settled.

Global warming is not just the greatest environmental challenge facing our planet — it is one of our greatest challenges of any kind.

-- Barack Obama

A Greenpeace co-founder testified in Congress on Tuesday about global warming. What he said is hardly what anyone would expect.

Patrick Moore:

"There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide are the dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth's atmosphere over the past 100 years," said Moore, who was testifying before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee's Subcommittee on Oversight.

"If there were such a proof, it would be written down for all to see. No actual proof, as it is understood in science, exists."

Update:

I'd like to know where you people dig up this "97% of scientists" believe in global warming bull. All "scientists aren't necessarily experts on ecology, are they? Patrick Moore is and he quit Green Peace because of their rabid leftist agenda instead of them using observable scientific facts.

As for the rest of you dim bulbs, try reading the question and responding instead of dancing around the issue. I'm surprised you didn't blame it on Bush.

Update 2:

@snuffbox: That is a quote, moron. Since you can't google it yourself, here's the link;

@Sin; What kind of convoluted logic is that? Just because everyone believed the world was flat didn't make it so.

fwiw, I took a signals processing class in graduate school, and the professor demonstrated within like 5 minutes that global temperatures aren't even in a statistically significant upward trend. It's a random walk. I also took a math class where the professor showed that because the Earth is not a perfect sphere, no one actually knows how to measure the volume of carbon in the atmosphere. I find it astonishing how many "scientists" consider this an open and shut case despite obvious and fundamental scientific flaws in their theory. I think it's more about Machiavellian politics than science at this point. Liberals believe that even if global warming weren't true, at least we're getting people to buy hybrids and recycle and in the end that's a good thing in their minds.

Global warming is as proven by studying climate history as Napoleon Bonaparte is proven by studying European history.

The rule of the scientific community is empiricism. Which means that you conclude the reality around you based on conclusive evidence after testing and observing it. Just the fact that the vast majority if the world who abide by this law is agreeing (In variable degree) that there in fact is global warming occurring should be evidence enough to persuade anyone's opinion on the matter.

Talking about Global Warming means Obama isn't talking about the Economy, Jobs, Unemployment, the ACA and his many deadline changes to suit political purposes.

But, the American people are not as gullible as he believes - as his party will find out in the Mid Terms later this year.

Perhaps Obama will get an award - Shellacking Mark 2.

President Obama did not say what you claim. His words: "Climate change is a fact". He is 100% correct. Nobody, outside a few quacks deny that. You and others fail to know the difference between global warming and global climate change.

Part of what is wrong with this country is that people deny facts. 97% of scientists say that global warming is real.

Global warming is real. Anyone who says otherwise probably also thinks that the earth is flat and Jesus rode on the backs of dinosaurs. Whether it's caused by humanity or not is the controversy. In my opinion, global warming (and cooling) is a natural phenomenon that happens on occasion in nature (the ice age). It's totally normal that we'd be experiencing the effects of such occurrences. And just because it's cold in your neck of the woods doesn't mean that ice caps aren't melting at alarmingly rapid rates.
