Is it just me or does R&S seem a bit quiet lately?

Sorry. I was just sitting in my armchair trying to determine an equation for describing the shape of the universe. I am back now as the back of the envelope I was using is full and I can't remember what the squiggles at the beginning mean. I might have to abandon my quest for such an equation until after tea.

The shape of the universe is a spatial problem. The universe is not expanding from a central point which would produce a sphere but all objects are moving away from each other according to a clearly defined equation. Further objects are receding faster than near objects but that applies equally to every body in the universe so every body can be seen as the centre of the universe but it does not allow us to determine the overall shape.

The common consent at the moment is that it is flat.

I really don't like answering troll questions and there seems to be a ton of it lately. Strangely enough I actually like talking about religion and the craziness of it, but only if the person asking the question is serious.

When you say purple do you mean the new layout? I'm using the green layout right now. I downloaded an addon called User Agent Switcher For Chrome and used the IE6 setting on it.

There are other ways to get around the purple if you do a search for it.

I don't know I have busy week ahead. Trying to get everything done before Spring Break. And as Aggy said awhile ago I am running out of good Beard questions.

@Aggy Well it depends what you define as the universe. If you define it as the infinite expanse that matter can fill then it has no shape because it is infinite. If you consider it the actual expanse in which matter has already filled then you may wish to simplify it to a sphere assuming it is expanding at the same rate in all directions. Though that may not be a valid assumption since there are parameters such dark matter and energy.

I have to be bored to get on, and am more bored when I do. It is hard to find the fun questions to answer anymore. I think they got rid of many of the trolls, along with all the fun.

They changed the format and made it easier for people to be stupid, it has discouraged people of intelligence. They have left in droves.
