Why do i have to choose?

I understand how you feel. People generally see religion as a black and white concept. You either got to be religious or you do not believe in the whole idea. The grey area in between is probably where a lot of people lie these days. It's cool to believe anything you want and you shouldn't care what people expect you to think. As long as you're comfortable in what you believe in the whole cosmos of everything then keep believing it!

You don't have to label yourself, and you don't have to discuss what you do or don't believe, but that still won't change the fact that you either believe in one or more gods (theist of some kind) or you don't (atheist). It is interesting how some people are so reluctant to allow certain words to be used in their description of themselves, as if the words were somehow horrible.

"Atheist" is not the antonym of "religious", by the way. "Theist" is. There are non-theistic religions.

You don't have to choose and you don't have to tell anyone if you don't want to. You are, however, either theist or atheist. Everyone is one or the other. Do you believe in a god of any description? Yes? You are a theist. No? You are an atheist. It is as simple as that. If you do believe in a god you do not have to believe in any of the religions, it is completely up to you.

Agnostic is not on a continuum between theist and atheist. It is completely separate. Theism/atheism is about belief and everyone is one or the other. You either believe or you don't, no exceptions. Agnosticism is about knowledge not belief and agnostics say you cannot know that gods exist. Most atheists and many theists are also agnostics.

Actually I think you just answered your own question. It seems that you come into the category of atheists. This is because you simply 'don't care' and that is kind of like how atheists are. Or they just don't believe anything, which I think you don't either.
