OUR CURRENT FLAG DID NOT COME IN TO EXISTEMCE TILL 1952 OFFICIALLY...so don't try to tell me iam fixing something.. the whole question is getting rid of the union jack which would include a republic.

Sadly, the southern cross has become a symbol of jingoism and racisism. I like the current flag but accept that it should be changed because there is not a universal support for it. In the end, who cares what it is. It will only end up being misused by politicians and disrespected by bogans who think it is an item of clothing on Anzac and Australia Days.
Maybe we could sell it as advertising space to News Ltd.

I don't want to be a republic. I support the monarchy. If, for some reason, they decide to have a pointless referendum, and by some bizarre twist of fate, it actually passed, then I guess we could just have the blue background with the southern cross. Or we could incorporate the Aboriginal flag into the current flag, but only if we added other races into the part signifying the people.

Argyrios there is nothing wrong with the Australian flag, it receives world wide respect as it is.
Don't try to fix something that is not broken.

A symbol that represents the Aboriginal people, Immigrants and the land
I would like to see these 3 symbols on the Australian flag. The Union Jock has no place on our flag.
