Question on handwritten business letter?

I'm writing a handwritten thank you card for an audition and interview. But I wrote the wrong word and this is my last thank you card. I suppose the word will fit in the sentence... but it's a bit distracting from the point. I can't go to the store and get more because I have a TON of homework and I'm already behind... not to mention broke. Should I leave it as is or use white out???

And no I'm not typing it because then I would just have to add a bunch of meaningless junk to it, and handwritten is more personal (this is for a small university and very important scholarship.

What should I do?

Why not send them an e-mail instead? It would surely be appropriate.
