Is the i5-4670k really worth the more expensive price compared to an amd fx-8350? This build is for gaming. Thanks!

It does better in single-threaded stuff but not by a huge amount. Newer games are becoming more aware of the extra cores which benefits the 8350. In some games it actually gives the i7 a run for its money.

But in terms of price to performance the AMD chip is a better value. Outside of a few games you probably won't notice any real world differences and you'll be able to use the extra money somewhere else, like your graphics card.

no, the FX 8350 does better in terms of price-performance, and most new games are AMD optimized
