How to repair a small windshield chip?

Hi, I recently got a tiny chip on my windshield. I was wondering if anyone knows a good repair kit. Also if anyone knows if I have to use the tube thingy, I don't think the chip is deep it's more on the outer layer really small barely noticeable. It looks more of just like putting the resin on the point and placing the tape over it kind of job. Also are some resins different colors would I be better off just taking it to a professional glass shop? Tips suggestions. Thanks.

Update:

I meant different colors of resins such as would a repair be noticeable as far as coloration? I heard sometimes it distracts the driver.

Find a small business automotive glass shop near your area. I got mine done for $30 vs speedy which would probably cost over $60.

They do a good job. They basically just inject the resin and smooth out the excess.

Make sure you are not in direct sunlight. Have a plastic dome when you proceed. You may have to take out any loose chip inside the crack. Take it out with a small knife or steel pick. Clean with ethanol alcohol and dry for a minute. Follow the directions on the tube

My auto insurance company offers free chip repair. Of course, depends on the size and location. Have you asked your insurance agent or company representative about this?
