What do you think about Honey Boo Boo's show?

I'm European and the first time I watched this show was maybe one year ago.

I was completely astonished by their ignorance, manners, life style, well, everything, but the only thing I got from this show, is the love they have for each other. Is it fake, I cannot judge, but from what I've seen, it seems real.

I'm not into reality shows and obviously I don't think all American families are like this, but it seems that no matter what your background is, your education, your etiquette, this family shows more love than many of us maybe had from our families

Yes, I agree with both of you. I'm not British either, but I know Eastenders exists for 20 years or so, but what I meant was that I actually laugh a lot for their stupidity. I wonder sometimes if these type of shows are meant to just make us laugh or to show that indeed there is so much stupidity in the world that makes you laugh. Or maybe to show if you are oblivious of the rest of the world, it actually makes you happier.

    Garbage, pure garbage. It's also a "Reality" show so keep that in mind, 99/100 of "Reality" shows are scripted or semi-scripted. When they aren't following the script they know the cameras are there so obviously the people in these shows aren't really acting real when they know cameras are there. To be fair to Boo Boo I will say most "Reality" shows are Garbage.

    This one falls into the "please don't think this represents typical Americans" territory. Entertainment can often appeal the least commondenominator of society. Smart people can understand a range of programming. Dumb people can only understand simplistic themes. Programs like this cover a wide audience, even if the smarter audiences do not watch.

    Think of it like the show in the UK, Eastenders. I am sure that not all people from there are poor, uneducated and dodgy. The program appeals to a wide audience, millions in fact.

    Remember, the object of television in most cases is to sell advertising and occaisionally to entertain or educate.

    It's funny but you're right it can be shocking to see how they live.

    As for if it's real, well no reality show is completely real. There is some scripting and producer manipulation involved. But it'd be impossible to completely filter those people. A lot of what you see is how they really are, I'm sure.

    I like the show...theyre just so funny. If a show makes me laugh, im gonna watch it
