Need help! So lost right now?
Ok so I'm pregnant and moving to Minnesota from Arizona. My baby's father (Ex bf) lives here in AZ, no we are NOT married, and he wants nothing to do with me or the baby. So question #1 is, would the child support system go off of the state of Minnesota or ARIZONA? And if my ex makes roughly 900 every 2 weeks, how much would child support be, I'm just curious.

Well, child support is usually ordered by the State in which you are living when the child is born; but it is reciprocal from state to state. Meaning that your boyfriend could not avoid paying child support, no matter where he lives.
As to how much child support you might receive -- who knows? Child support payments are based on a percentage of the father's gross income; and the amount is determined by the court when child support is ordered. The average monthly child support obligation in Minnesota is $493. But, that's average; that does not mean you will receive that much. There is a minimum amount, though. If the supporter's income is less than 120% of the Federal poverty guidelines, the minimum amount of child support for one child is $50 per month.

It would go by Minnesota's child support calculation. As far as how much you will receive, I am not sure and there are child support calculators you can find online to get you an accurate number. I would guess around $200 based on that small of an income
