How to train a 3 months old dog?

I have a 3 months old dog and I don't know how to train him. Can anyone help me on how to start some basic tricks to train my dog? Any help will appreciated. Thank you.

    My advice for you are:

    - Teach Basic Commands

    - Practice the basic commands such as sit, stay, come and heel with your puppy on a lead rope.

    - Remove the lead rope and practice the same commands with your puppy.

    - Take your puppy on long walks every day and practice the commands

    - Praise him when he is successful.

He's too young for formal training. Right now your emphasis should be on housetraining and bonding to you. One thing you can do is build a foundatioin for later, formal training by playing games with your pup. for example a game of hide and seek (or find me) can be a foundation for later recall training. And a doggy version of follow the leader can help with heeling and staying close to you.

Since it is obvious that you do not have a clue about obedience training, your services should be for free. You cannot train even an adult dog for 8 hours a day. About the most that can be done at any one time is 10 - 20 minutes and that is with an adult dog and not a puppy. The attention span on this baby is extremely short and training session should be no more than 10 minutes and twice a day. Additionally, there isn t going to be much learned if you will only be training for 5 days. Obedience training is cumulative and is done over a much longer period of at least several weeks to several months.

What you can charge is determined by your experience, reputation, and accomplishments and in a case like this, should also include guaranteed expectations. Just working with dogs over several years, is not the experience that is necessary to be a dog trainer. There are too many people who are putting that title to their name and fleecing the public. Don t be one of them.

First and foremost, teach your new puppy his daily routines. Teach your dog where his food and water dishes are located. What times of day he will eat. Where his bed is. What time he goes to bed. What time he gets up. Where he goes to the bathroom and where his toys are kept.

    Great question!

Your dog should learn sit, down, stay, come, leave it, drop it, take it, go to your mat, heel, and walk on a loose lead -- at the least – and be very reliable on all. If you go to Youtube and do a search for Kikopup, and one for Zac George, you will find many wonderful videos showing you fun ways to teach almost anything you want. Both of these trainers are great. The key is kindness, patience, practice, lots of treats, and making it fun for you and your dog. Tricks are there too and you can also do a search on "clicker dog tricks."
