When I was a kid I would pick and eat them straight from the pod and I still do.
I will shell enough peas for the meal and serve them uncooked
When you get them check to see the quality of them as you may be getting nice fresh ones, or ones near the end of the season.
Over here the factories get the majority of the crop and we get a tiny portion of them
They are about $10.00kg fresh and about $2.30kg frozen

Yes, and they are lovely to taste. We drop them in salads or make a nice veggie meal with it.

I used to grow them when I had a garden. Not all of them made it to the kitchen.
