What will happen to my parents if I run away and don't show for my court date in alabama?
I am charged with UPOM 1.5 g, possession of a sched 3 controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. What are the statutes of limitations and if I stay away for that period of time can I still be convicted of these crimes if I've already been charged? I'm not serious about doing this, I don't have the resources or the balls. I couldn't even get myself to run away from boarding school haha, I'm just asking bc I almost got away with it is my favorite show.

Running away would get you nowhere. They would just put a warrant out for your arrest and you would eventually screw up, like everyone on the show. Statutes of limitations do not kick in unless they open and close the case against you and choose not to try you.

Nothing will happen to them other than they will miss you.
You on the other hand will not only have a couple of minor drug charges against you, you will also have a failure to appear charge. Likely more than one. And you will be a fugitive until they arrest you and haul you to jail, then court and then back to jail.

you then become a fugitive from the law & you'll be looking at a much bigger sentence when finally caught.
dude, in my hometown, we had a guy who was convicted of armed robbery at 16, he was 17 when the trial completed, he was sentenced to 2 years in a juvenile facility. 2 years & he'd be out w/ a sealed record that would have no affect on his adult life.
he ran. He & his father faked his death (staged boating accident) & he ran. they caught up with him 5 years later--they were watching his parents & his caught his dad meeting him in another state to give him money. He got 15 years in an adult facility for being a fugitive from the law plus the 2 years he was supposed to originally serve. His mother had been convinced that he was dead & because of her son's & husband's duplicity, she was broke (the family was billed for the search the Coast Guard did for him--$250K), her husband was in prison for 20 years for aiding & abetting & her son was in prison for running.
whatever it is you're trying to escape, it's going to be much worse for you when you get caught. not to mention emotional pain you'd cause your parents & possible problems with the police tracking their every steps to see if they will lead the police to you.

you seem to have missed one very important part of your favorite show...... the "ALMOST" part of the title and stories.
what would happen to your parents would depend on what they did or failed to do; if they assisted you in some way, what knowledge they had before-hand etcetera... etcetera...
time to grow up, learn from this STUPID mistake, accept the consequences of your choices, deal with it now and pray that your records can be sealed......
