Why does the Bible make more sense...?

No, we probably do not understand every aspect in the same way (and since some of my views are admittedly "non-traditional" in today's view I can almost assure it). But from what little that I can gather from Joel's response, it would seem that we do agree on the majors and thus have the same general world-view.

Bottom line is this, the Bible defines a world-view that explains our origin, meaning, morality, destiny and our world/universe in general in a coherent and grounded manner; something that materialism cannot do just in principle.

Which is what people 2000 years from today will be asking about you...do you honestly believe you're a part of a modern group of people that DO know every thing?! (good luck with that!)

In fact, the Bible isn't about "making sense"...it's understood properly when the Holy Spirit is your teacher and guide, otherwise "the natural man cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him and Spiritually discerned." (1 Corinthians 2:13-14)

It makes plenty of sense right now, thank you very much. For a book written by dozens of authors over a period of 2500 years, it actually follows a solid narrative and them quite smoothly. It makes more sense than a lot of the dribble that goes through the presses these days.

I think the ancient people may have known a lot more than we give them credit for. The Dark Ages are when humanity lost everything it created, interestingly the church was the only thing that kept knowledge and literacy somewhat alive.

Maybe you should read some of the other books from the antiquity: there are plenty of other philosophical treaties which don't rely upon superstition that were written pre Jesus...

Some of them were very clever indeed, such as books telling the story of Socrates.

Because what they knew about the physical world back then was minuscule to what we know now. And what we know now basically debunks the rubbish written in the bible

Yes, sure it does. Same as any other mythology. You have to have a little empathy and imagination,though. That seems to be a challenge for some.

Because that's exactly what it was. A collection of myth and legend.
