Question about gun laws?

A good question was asked about IL FOID card for firearms. Smokin Joe didn't even answer the question, and a girl claimed the guns come from Indiana. I left Chicago, and now live in Indiana. So here is the question.

If the murder rate, and gun crimes in Chicago are because they get guns in Indiana, why don't we have the same gun crimes? The only crime we have is in Gary, and Gary has a lower per capita rate than Chicago by a mile.

Indiana we have open, and concealed carry. We also have castle laws, and cross the line laws. Very little crime.

Update:

@ The Doctor - - - -hahahaha, you know, I grew up in the city, and Indiana people, can tell the Chicago people. I work with the union, and wears suits to work. The neighbors look at me like I'm that guy. lol made my day.

Update 2:

@Valentina- - - - I can see what you are saying, but when you look at IL outside of Chicago there isn't much. Chicago has stricter laws than the rest of the state. Last year just in Chicago there were 816 murders. Every night on the news you have some black guys Auntie crying about what a good boy he was. Indiana has a city every few miles. Gary, Indy, Fort Wayne, South bend, & Monticello. More cities, more blacks=more gun violence.

You are not suppose to state fact to liberals, their liberal handlers do not prepare their liberal sheep to face facts.

@ Valentin... You are a liar! Indiana DOES NOT have a higher rate of gun deaths than Illinois. http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-...

John. Where the guns come from for illicit use is a problem for Law Enforcement.

Not the average citizen, Even though they may be impacted at some time or another.

Most of the Illegal guns running into NY state and NYC come from GA, South Carolina.

Just another spoke in the wheel of what we have to deal with on the Homicide and

Armed Robbery side of things. Not enough teeth in the gun show laws in those two

States I mentioned to stop the volume buying and transporting to areas of wide usage.

Indiana has never been a major contributor to the illicit usage of Weapons in Chicago.

Well see you have it all wrong. Its the guns fault that they have so many shootings in Chicago. Those guns there just won't obey the law. See the law in Chicago doesn't work because its all Indiana's fault. That is why they passed the gun control laws in Chicago. That was to eliminate gun violence. Its not their fault the gun laws don't work its Indiana's.

This is sort of like global warming. If you pass a law here that will stop China and others from poluting the environment but if it doesn't you can still ask them to stop. If you can't get them to stop maybe you can get them to apologize. That will fix it.

Because everything else about Gary and Chicago are EXACTLY THE SAME, except for the gun laws.

Right? Gary is just Chicago in a different state.

That's the only way your argument meets any standard of logic.

    Oh, the illiteracy that abounds.

    1) http://kff.org/other/state-indicator/firearms-deat... uses "ADJUSTED" numbers. It says so right in your source, there, Valentina.

The FACT is Indiana has a LOWER murder rate and a LOWER "gun--murder" rate than Illinois does.

    Illinois 20.2% own guns, 3.5 murders/1000, 2.8 "gun-murders"/1000

    Indiana 39.1% own guns, 3.1 murders/1000, 2.2 "gun-murders"/1000

    2) http://www.americanprogress.org/wp-content/uploads... cherry-picks only selected States and of course ignores D.C. Looking at ALL 50 states and D.C., we find:

    > HIGHER percentage of Gun owners : LOWER Murder rate r=-0.34 p=0.015

    > HIGHER percentage of Gun owners : LOWER "Gun-murder" rate r=-0.33 p=0.017

    3) http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/hicrc/firearms-researc... doesn't even CLAIM to include rates of gun-ownership in its "analysis." Although this data is READILY AVAILABLE, they instead use a "proxy for firearm ownership." In other used, they used SOME OTHER measure they believe goes along with it.

In Toronto, we have none of that junk and low crime rates too.

    What's that prove?

A huge urban area that's near Chicago proves that city doesn't have to be the way it presently is. Criminals do own illegal hand guns here though - they're bought in Detroit.

It is all about the Gangbangers in chicago but the Libearals want to punish the law abiding citizens because they don't have the Balls to go after the criminals.
