"Clicker thing"??? Could you mean the "turn signal lever"??? Disregarding your obvious lack of knowledge, and your complete failure to state YEAR MAKE OR MODEL, the likely cause is a small plastic cam has broken in the steering wheel. (It's probably a GM car or truck, which have a common failure of this weak, cheap plastic part.) It cannot be the flasher because the turn signal works if you hold the lever in place, correct? This will be an straightforward repair involving removing the steering wheel and replacing the broken piece. Take it to the dealer or other competent shop. It is not possible for you to perform this repair yourself.

At a vehicle repair shop. Depending upon the year of the vehicle and the actual problem, you may be looking at over $500 to fix it. I would hold it down to turn left.

You can try buying the part online via ebay. if that is not an option buy it from a new car dealer. Watch a couple of youtube videos on how to remove / replace the part to see if it is something you want to tackle. Good luck!
