Can auto zone deny you service?
I was denied at auto zone becuse they did not want to be responsible for my car is something went wrong. I own a very expensive car (not going to go into detail because I'm called lair) and all I needed was a new filter. Can they deny you?

If they didn't have a filter that was made for your car, of course they shouldn't sell you a filter. I had a devil of a time finding an oil filter for my Lotus Europa until I explained it had a Renault 16 engine but with little clearance to the frame. Then I found a store that carried a low profile filter for a Renault 16 and life was good.

Any business can refuse service to anyone it chooses, Unless of course your gay or a minority, in which case you'll make headlines and that's bad for business, so not a good idea, But in your case it sounds as if you went to a Vatozone and wanted nose picking brainless minimum wage making moron to change a filter on your very expensive car for free, But I see no reason why they wouldn't sell you the filter so you could install it yourself, I'm sure they could care less, Something sounds a bit fishy, most likely the reason your called liar, Generally those with very expensive cars can afford to have them serviced by professionals rather than some kid behind the counter at a Vatozone.

Well, I guess it all depends on why LIAR was used!!!!
But yes, they can deny you service. It is their right not to work on a car for any number of reasons. We at our dealership have refused to work on cars just because what the customer wanted fixed wouldnt have made a difference in the running of it & would have cost 5 times more than that to get it running. We told them no. So they do have the right to refuse to work on any car if they so do choose.
My guess is you want them to replace something that you think is what it needs & they tried to tell you it wont fix it so they are refusing to work on it since then you will tell them they caused the problem now so I would be in complete agreement with them on refusing to work on your car

That seems like a foul on auto zone's part. Just selling you the filter shouldn't make them liable for anything. If they weren't comfortable installing it, that would be one thing. They must not have much confidence in their ability to sell you the correct part for your vehicle.

Sure, unless you are in California and a f$%^&. In free states private businesses can deny services to most people if they want to.

If you have a very expensive car, you're not even thinking of going to AutoZone; you're going to a proper specialist.
"Lair"?

Of course they can choose not to sell parts or service for what they feel may be a poor circumstance.
